“Scholastic Art Awards” Affiliate

Heartwood College of Art in Kennebunk is pleased to announce that the College has been chosen by The Alliance for Young Artists Writers to be the Maine affiliate for the 2009 Scholastic Art Awards.  This year, the prestigious Scholastic Art & Writing Awards celebrates their 85^th year of encouraging the next generation of artists through recognition of their work at the regional and national levels. 

Heartwood will:

• serve as the host for the Scholastic Art Awards in Maine

• receive all art work submitted by high school and junior high students throughout the state

• coordinate the jurying of those submissions for awards at the Gold, Silver and Bronze levels of achievement

• recognize the Maine award winners at a grand reception to be held locally early in 2009
